A Place To Begin.

Well, this is the beginning. I've tried to start blogs before. This time is different - I think I finally have something to say. Of course how serious or humorous will depend on the mood I'm in - among other things and no, I don't know what they are. The other things. So, why the title you may ask? I am from Ohio. Northwest Ohio - Lake Erie, Cedar Point, beautiful parks, tall trees, rolling countrysides, citylife. I have been replanted in the country dessert of the Permian Basin known as West Texas. Brown, dry, flat, hot. Really hot. On more than one occasion, during the course of simple conversation, I have been branded with the obviously repulsive title of "yankee", and more recently "damn yankee".  This moniker always comes from people who appear well educated, successful, accomplished. Many times they claim the same lifestyle I do - as a follower of Jesus Christ. Their facial expressions give themselves away as to the particular level of disgust they feel for me, and what was happy friendly conversation is abruptly halted, and I'm left there - eyes wide as panic and embarrassment washes over me - trying to figure it all out. I never do. I have come to the conclusion that I never will and it's probably better that way.

True Words: Ephesians 4: 2-6:  Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. AMEN - Y'all.
